#EOTL stands for "End of the line" and it is the name of a very personal photo-project which I started at the time when I was making some major changes in my life. After more than 20 years I left the company that I had co-founded in order to do "something else". A major part of my life was coming to a close and it was time for something new. In my final year with the company and in the year after that, I traveled (by train) to all 20 terminus train stations in Belgium after a while realizing that the end of the line is also the beginning. Or how a metaphore can be interpreted literally. First I focused on photographing the actual stations but soon it dawned on me that this whole project was about the trip, not the destination

On these soccerfields in small-town Belgium, friendships start, heroic battles are fought and memories that will last a lifetime are created. Time seems to have come to a standstill at some of these fields allowing melancholy to roam freely

Selection of images from my book on my hometown Ghent (Belgium), showing places that are dear to some Ghentians. Although superficially this seems to be a book about places in fact it is not, this is a book about people.
